DASH Diet:Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) is a lifestyle approach to healthy eating to manage and/or lower blood pressure. This eating style focuses on fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy, whole-grains and a low-saturated fat and low sodium approach to blood pressure control. Come and learn about low sodium nutrition for your heart and health while enjoying delicious, flavorful food.
Culinary Nutrition Kids CampCulinary Nutrition Camp occurs twice a month for 2 months in the fall and spring for a total of 4 classes. Students from Gardner Elementary attend 1.5 hour classes learning about a variety of foods and how they fit in a healthy diet. In addition, they make a recipe using the featured food for each class and sample their delicious creations. Students leave with education materials and recipes to try at home with their family.
